To ensure fair and equitable access for all, we must ask that you follow these guidelines.
No food or drinks in studio
No vapes/other electronic cigarettes, and please consult with Tech Ops before using any hazers or fog/smoke machines: all of these have previously set off the fire alarm.
Closed shoes must be worn in the studio. Students will be refused access to the studio without proper footwear
Bookings can be made up to 3 weeks in advance
Arrive / depart studios on time, collect / return equipment on time
24 hours notice required for cancellation/alteration of bookings
Call the Tech Department if you are running late
DO NOT WALK ON THE CURVE. Make sure guests and actors are aware of this as well.
Any light rigging must be done by the tech ops department
Students are not to use any ladders nearby. They must get Tech Ops staff to do the ladder work for them.
All studio equipment returns must be processed at least 15 minutes before the end of your session.
Rooms must be left neat and tidy. Extra chairs put back to the room they were taken from. Props returned to prop store or around campus where they were borrowed from. Rubbish collected and put in appropriate recycling or general rubbish bins
If the room is messy when you first arrive make sure to report it to tech ops so they can follow up on it.
Equipment MUST be returned in the same condition as it was signed out
Report any equipment/studio faults to the Tech Team
Students must always accompany guests on campus, and only students may operate the equipment
Shot bags are never to be removed from braces.
Set walls are booked out like normal equipment. If the walls are critical (either in use or needing to be removed from the room) they must be booked out with enough time prior to your shoot to move them by the tech ops team.
The set walls can only be moved by the tech operations team and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
It requires two staff to do safely and roughly a hour or two depending on the complexity.
Due to limited staff availability and security responsibilities the set walls cannot be changed at night
Set walls can be painted at the students own cost. They must provide appropriate drop sheets and painting materials to ensure no paint damage to other parts of the studio. Enough time must be booked in order to paint before a shoot.
Walls need to remain as a mid neutral colour. Painting to another colour will require them to be painted back
