THIS SITE HAS BEEN RETIRED- PLEASE USE CAMPUS ONLINE
· Activity 1:
As directed by your facilitator, split into small groups and complete the following questions.
Walking around campus, find 2 spaces that sound very different. For each, describe:
- The general ‘sound’ of the space when you talk, clap… big/small? Good/bad? Bass/treble? Exciting/dull?
- Estimate size, the general shape
- Rough description of materials on floor, walls, ceiling
Come back to class and share your experience.
Activity 2:
Independent group research. Your facilitator will assign a reverb related term for your group to investigate/define/draw on an A3 sheet.
You will share your findings with the other groups. As a class, let's find a way to visually represent reverb.
Link to a database of absorbency coefficients for a variety of materials.
Data such as this is required in order to calculate Reverb Times (RT60) within a room space.
