An understanding of how we hear and perceive sound is important for all audio practitioners, as is the knowledge and adherence to safe listening levels. This knowledge can assist your critical listening, studio operation and live sound engineering and allow you to compensate for psychoacoustic phenomena and other considerations when making creative or technical decisions.

Working in pairs, investigating the human hearing system and analyse and document sound levels in a variety of environments to develop sound measurement skills and knowledge.
