KEY CLUB

As part of Kiwanis International, Key Club is a student-led, volunteer service and leadership organization for all grades. The core values of Key Club are leadership, character building, caring and inclusiveness. It is also a fun and rewarding way to meet new friends, and complete volunteer hours required for graduation. Events can include but are not limited to volunteering at the Good Life Marathon and helping families at Jeneece Place.

KNITTING CLUB

The knitting club meets every Tuesday at lunch and welcomes both beginner and experienced knitters to work on personal and/or charity knitting projects. Students can even quickly make larger works like blankets using the knitting machine. See Ms. Tong for more details.

LUNCHTIME INTRAMURALS

Lunchtime intramurals are for all grades. Traditional intramural sports include: 3-on-3 basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball, speedball and dodgeball. Organizers ensure that intramurals are inclusive, offering co-ed sports and divisions for different grades.

MATH CLUB

The Claremont Secondary Math Club provides students opportunities to explore, learn, and engage in mathematics beyond what is taught in the classroom. Meeting once a week, math club members explore mathematical problems and compete in numerous mathematics competitions put on throughout the year by the University of Waterloo, UBC, Camosun College, and the American Mathematical Society.

PEER TUTORING

The Peer Tutoring club is available for all students; however, we are comprised of mainly grade 11 and grade 12 tutors. Peer tutors volunteer their time and are paired with students who request help with learning material and studying for tests in most academic areas. Peer connections can help foster rewarding and rich learning experiences for all students involved in the program.

SPANISH CLUB

Bienvenidos! Everyone welcome! This is a chance to learn some Spanish or meet with others who already speak Spanish. We will be watching some movies and doing some cooking. Come out Tuesdays at lunch to room 303 to have fun with Spanish and learn about this very vibrant culture. Hasta pronto!

TEAM TRIVIA

Flex your IQ every Thursday at lunch for a fast-paced round of competitive team trivia. Drop-in participants are always welcome. Interested students can also join the School Reach League and compete against other schools across the province with a chance to compete in the National competition. See Ms. Tong and Ms. Stover for more details.

Club members will work toward a final competition where they will compete against other teams in the VEX Robotics arena.

WELCOMERS CLUB

At Claremont a group of students and teachers are working to help new students feel welcome, meet new friends and become a part of their new school. These advisors organize a weekly lunch opportunity to mix and mingle and have some fun. Eating cookies, baking, and games are some of the popular pass times. As a school community, Claremont loves to welcome students from anywhere and help build many lasting friendships
