Staying cool over the summer is very important. Whether you're outside playing a sport or just going for a quick walk, it's important to stay protected and cool.
One thing you can do to stay cool is close blinds during the day to prevent sunlight from entering a room. This prevents the heat from coming into your house, which helps cool you down but also stops you from blasting your air conditioner and wasting electricity. According to the Department of Energy’s guide on window treatments, properly selected coverings can reduce solar heat gain by up to 77% during the summer months, which lowers cooling costs by up to 20%. Another benefit of closing blinds or curtains is that this acts as a barrier against ultraviolet rays, which protects your hardwood floors, artwork, and upholstery from fading. These will help with constantly buying new furniture, keeping colors from fading or discoloration, and helps by forming a barrier against UV rays.
While going outside or playing sports, staying cool is very important. When your body overheats, it struggles to cool itself, it can cause strain on the heart and kidneys, cause dehydration, heat exhaustion and potentially life-threatening heat strokes. Wearing light-colored and loose fitting clothing can benefit you by keeping you cool throughout the day. Also, drinking water is key to staying cool and healthy. Drinking water regulates your body temperature through sweating, and prevents heat-related illnesses like heatstroke. When playing sports, staying hydrated helps prevent fatigue and muscle cramps which helps with your performance and energy.
In conclusion, staying cool over the summer is very important, and helps your health and benefits you a lot. (Google, Southside Place Texas)
