Summer Activities Around Rye Neck

Since school is almost out, many students have been looking forward to activities to do in the summer. Once school ends in June, there is a lot of free time for students who don’t have school to go to for six hours a day. In Mamaroneck, situated on the water, there are many fun festivals and parks that we have access to.
One such festival is the Fireman’s Carnival. It will begin on June 26th and end on July 5th. During this carnival, people can buy cotton candy, go on rides, play carnival games, and much more. It is very fun to go to the carnival with some friends, making it a must-go spot for you to hang out during the Summer.
The Fireman’s Carnival is located on Harbor Island, and while at night you can go to the carnival, during the day, you can enjoy the park. Harbor Island has many amazing perks to it, including a beach, soccer fields, and walkable trails throughout the entire park. It is a great place to go on daily walks, enjoy the water, or go fishing. Sometimes, a walk along the tree-lined paths is just what you need to clear your mind. Harbor Island is also a harbor, so if you own a sailboat or a kayak, you can go sailing as well.
If Mamaroneck is too small or already explored, you can always hop on a train to head to New York City. In the city, there are so many exciting things to do, from museums to restaurants to shops. You can spend a day in Central Park, or SoHo, or Manhattan, and come back the next day with a whole new experience. It is fairly simple to head to the city; all you have to do is ride the Metro-North to Grand Central, and use the subways from there.
In conclusion, although people may get bored during the Summer, there exist many fun day trips or festivals to go to around Westchester. From the beach at Harbor Island to the Statue of Liberty, it is impossible to have nothing to do in New York. I hope you all have a great summer and have fun! (TripAdvisor)
