A Day in the Life

My day in the summer starts when my alarm goes off at 7:40 a.m. I lay in bed for a little while, staring at the ceiling for a couple of minutes until I got up. I get in the shower, it helps me wake up fully, and after that I get dressed and ready for the day, which usually takes until 8:10. After getting dressed, I go eat breakfast. Then I brush my teeth and grab my bag, which has the stuff I need for my camp day. I'm out the door around 8:35 and head to camp so I can be on time. I work as a counselor for Westchester Country Club, and the day begins at 9:00 AM. From the moment the kids arrive, it's non-stop and full of action. We help the kids with all types of fun activities like arts and crafts, sports outside, inside the gym games, swimming, and a lot more. Lunchtime is a nice, relaxed break for people to eat and talk. Although at times things get a little crazy, being a camp counselor is very fun, because every day is different, but a lot of fun, and you get to meet new people while also making friends. Not only that, but you also become like a big sibling to the kids you take care of, and become a role model for them. Camp ends at 3 p.m, when it's pickup, and by then I'm usually hungry again, so I eat another lunch, something quick, and then I head to the gym. I work out for around an hour and a half, so I'm out at around 5:00 PM. After the gym I head home, where my mom always has food cooked and warm for me to eat dinner. I chill at home for a little, before getting ready to leave for soccer practice. I leave at 6:30 and get back home around 9. I then eat again and shower, and although it's somewhat late, if my friends and I are doing something, we’ll hang out. After we're done hanging out, I'll head home. I get in bed and rest, ready to do it over again the next day. My summer days are pretty busy, but they’re a lot of fun and all the things I enjoy doing.
