Visual Supports for Transitions and Tasks
Visual Supports for Transitions and Tasks
Theme One: Setting Up for Success
(Term 1)
Focus: Physical and instructional spaces that support engagement,
calm and accessibility.
Visual supports are one of the most effective, evidence-informed strategies that we have at our disposal. They provide structure, enhance communication, foster independence, reduce behaviour challenges, and support cognitive development, all at once. When we embed visual supports into daily practice, we are not just helping children get through the day. We are giving them tools to navigate their world with confidence and success.
Visual supports are part of Universal Design for Learning.
