Self Portrait

The subject of my creation is a self portrait of myself. The setting is the school. I made this work by taking a picture of my face, gridding it and drawing it out. I used black and white charcoal to make it, white for teeth and light parts and black for the other parts. I chose to create this because I thought it would be cool to have a picture of my eyes peering out of the glasses. I used Pattern because using the squares/gridding is patterns. I used shape to grid it and make it. I used Texture because I used light and dark colors/shades. I used selective focus so that the face was big enough to only know that it was on the canvas. My project evolved from my face to that. I changed the way my face was positioned. The meaning behind this was to show how well we could draw our own faces. This relates to my life because it is my face. I would have tried to make my face a little more realistic.
