ScratchBoard Project

The subject of my creation is my dog laying on the floor, The setting is my living room. This work was made by me sitting down with a scratchboard and a scratchboard tool and trying to make my dog. I chose to create this because my dog had a lot of different values and shades and it is my dog. I used value to make different shades and texture to try and make it feel like fur. It is composed by my dog being in the center of the piece. I used selective focus by putting my dog in the middle of the piece so it is the main thing to focus on. My project evolved from a regular scratchboard to this. I changed the way the lines were going. The meaning behind this is to show how well you can make values and shades on a scratchboard. This project relates to my life because it is my dog. I would have gone back and changed the way I made my dog, because you can barely tell it is a dog.
