For this project we made three spheres. One was inspired by a manmade object, the second one was a nature inspired one, and the third one was a sgraffito one. To make this I started off by making six pinch pots. Once that was made I took two of them and attached them by scoring it, then once they were combined I repeated those steps for the other three. To create the manmade one I made a hamburger. To do this I scratched in two lines to make the meat then on top I added little bits of clay to represent sesame seeds. Then with the nature one I made an eye. To make this one I started by adding to eyelids then drawing the eye and hollowing out the pupil. With the sgraffito one first I painted it with red underglaze, once I did three layers and it was dry I scratched the pattern on. Then I baked all three in the kiln. Once they were done cooking I glazed them. For the nature one I put white(HF-11) for the sides of the eyeball , then I did the iris with a blue glaze(C-21). Once it was dry I covered the whole thing with a clear glaze(HF-10) that makes it shiny. For the Manmade one I used iron(C-36) to give the meat color. Then with the sgraffito I covered it in the clear shiny glaze(HF-10). then I baked them all again.
