1.)Over this semester we have tried several different techniques and did different projects with them, these projects/techniques included making Pinch Pots, Coil Pot, Soft Slab Construction and we made an Artist Inspired Project. Out of all these projects I think I am most proud of the Multiple Pinch Pot Project. The first reasons is that it came out really well and just as I envisioned. The second reason is that I was able to use the pinch technique which I find to be one of the more quick and fun technique. I also like how the glaze I used lets the brown clay show through making it look a little more natural and alive. Also I really like its eyes since they look so cute. While doing this project I learned/improved my understanding of pinch pots and the different forms they can have.
2.) This class has changed my overall view on ceramics for the better. I used to have less appreciation for artwork that was bowls and plates. But now I have gained an better understand which gave me a new view on artists who create it. I now like all art better now. But especially ceramics after taking this class. I also think now realize how much effort goes into some of those ceramic art projects. I still don't think ceramics is my favorite form of art but it is up their
3.) I don't have many recommendations for this class in the future. But I do have a few ideas of how to improve the class. One might be to give more feedback about projects. And how to better improve the techniques. Also at the same time be a little more hands off and give people the ability to figure things out on their own. Also remind people/make sure that people get their artist statements done and not have them wait until the semesters end. Those are several things but overall you have been a great teacher for this semester.
