Daughter of Brian and Rachel Schaad of Steuben. Eliza transferred to Sumner in the middle of her junior year. That is no small task for a third year high school student. Her former high school in Utah allowed her many different opportunities such as a 10-year competitive figure skating career, an 11-year educational program in Chinese, and a MESA Club president. Once at Sumner she became part of the ROAR staff and served as a school representative to the RSU 24 School Committee. She is graduating with Magna Cum Laude distinction and will be attending the University of Maine Machias chasing a childhood dream of becoming a Marine Biologist.

I have had the absolute pleasure to get to know Eliza over this past year in our Journalism class. Eliza has one of the biggest hearts I have ever come to know. She brings such joy into our class and all of us are lucky to know her! Eliza has gone above and beyond to make sure everyone feels included, and she makes sure that voices are heard. She stands up for what is right in the world, and I am incredibly proud of her for that. Regarding The Roar, I am particularly pleased with how Eliza started our page on the importance of mental health - what a feat, and an incredible one at that! Not only that, but Eliza has a sense of humor which is unmatched. Eliza, you are one of those students with whom I hope to keep in touch for years to come. I appreciate everything you've done and all the smiles you created in me!!!

Dear Berries,
do you remember the first day of Journalism class? I think that was the day we officially met! Then we slowly started to talk in class more and more. You are the reason I listen to Taylor Swift and how I became interested in learning to make jewelry. You are so cool and I love how you share your interests with others.
Much love Bestie,
Adriana <3
Hi, Ezilla!
I remember seeing you in the hall and thinking you were the coolest person around. I instantly wanted to get close to you and I did. I remember when we all thought we were going to die when your dad looked through your window with a killer mask on. I hope my borderline tearduct infection was enough for you !
Love, Josh <3
Yo,
We all wish you luck in the future!
Eliza,
Have so much fun in college and stay loving Taylor Swift. good luck!
