Moira has been working on The Roar since her freshman year. She was often working many hours a day and completely alone. This adventure started with her old English teacher, Mr. Hunnefeld; someone Moira still looks up to this day. After Hunnefeld retired, the journalism class transferred to Ms. Watkins and eventually to Mrs. Mathewson. Through changes in teachers, Moira stayed persistent, not wanting to let The Roar die. When COVID-19 shut down the world, Moira continued to work. Once again, not wanting to let The Roar die. Moira was often out taking photos or trying to find something to put into her next edition. She believes in including work from other students at Sumner, showing everything from different articles to art projects. In the four years that Moira has worked in Journalism, she has created, edited, and published around 50 issues of The Roar. Without her, we would genuinely not have our school newsletter. Though we are about to say goodbye to Moira, as she graduates this June, she is not ready to give up journalism. She will be attending Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, to major in English and Journalism.
