This course focuses on exploration in the art studio. Students with limited experience should expect to be inspired through innovative studio art projects which focus on the elements of art and the principles of design. Students have the opportunity to work and experiment with a variety of materials and techniques with an emphasis on fine motor skills and the development of personal style.
This course builds upon what was learned throughout 6th grade art. Students will experiment with a variety of materials and techniques like painting, drawing, and 3 dimensional art. They will build upon their technical skills, work independently and collaboratively throughout the course.
In this course, students will experiment with a variety of materials and techniques. They will have the opportunity to work in 2D and 3D art forms. This is an abbreviated version of the types of hands-on projects which they can pursue in greater depth during high school choice-based art classes.
This quarter length art course is an introduction to the art room. This provides students with a sampler of a variety of possible mediums and projects they may like to continue in 7th and 8th grade. All art courses at PHMS emphasize the importance of the elements of art and principles of design.
