Meet Bug

I have posted this lesson in a video on my mrsfisherguidance2020 Instagram page, please follow along.

Bug is thoughtful and is extremely cautious. He is smart, he likes to talk to himself and uses self talk. Bug's lucky number is 2 and his favourite colour is magenta. He loves the smell of rosemary and the taste of wildflower honey.

Bug is afraid of change and because of this, being a caterpillar is not easy for him. He is afraid to change into a butterfly. His wings tuck into his back pouch when he feels scared or shy. Bug is learning how to be brave and try something new even if he feels scared or shy. Bug is working hard to be brave and he feels scared to fly. Everyone gets scared or shy at times. Bug will help us learn how to be brave like him.

Bug uses positive self talk like, "I'm not giving up even though I am frustrated. I can do this! I can do it!

Make a bug out of paper, colour it and place some things you are afraid of. Place it somewhere where you can see it and think of other self talk words you will use when there is change in your life, your house, or your school.

WE CAN DO THIS!!!

Bug feels left out when he is being quiet and his friends think he does not want to play.

Bug feels shy when he meets new people. Bug needs to practice making eye contact when he feels shy.

Bug can use self talk: this is when he can tell himself positive words like: "I think I can, I know I can do it! Positive self talk is what we say to ourselves to be brave, and Bug can practice using these words often when he wants to try new things. He will be brave.

Bug is a Kimochis and helps our students in building their confidence and character, one feeling at a time.
