Young Ladies of Excellence 

Young Ladies of Excellence is an organization for young women created by Ms. Cynthia Humphrey. Ms. Humphrey has worked with young ladies at Arthur F. Smith for 7+ years and counting. Young Ladies of Excellence is committed to instilling the power of positive character and values to help empower young female students academically and socially. Ready set, "Excellence, Yes!"

Mission

Young Ladies of Excellence seeks to build female leaders within the campus of Arthur F. Smith Middle Magnet and beyond through various programs. and project-based learning activities. We strive to spread sisterhood throughout our school and local community while promoting academic, social, and emotional excellence in all things and in all ways! 

Our core beliefs are that each of our young ladies possesses capabilities to become agents of change within their schools, communities, and homes, and that these abilities can be cultivated through diverse empowerment and training programs. 

Requirements

Student Requirements: Female students in grades 6th through 8th. Young ladies are required to dress out on specific days. 

Academic Commitment: All members are required to maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or above and maintain an AR accuracy of 85% or above. Students are required to document their growth through demerit forms, which focus on attendance, class participation, and sisterhood.  Students are required to also attend school, community, and family engagement activities.
