WELCOME TO ARTHUR F. SMITH MIDDLE MAGNET SCHOOL!
Arthur F. Smith Middle Magnet is located at 3100 Jones Avenue in Alexandria, Louisiana (District 3). Our grade levels include 6th through 8th. We strive to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students foster principles of academic excellence, responsibility, service, and compassion that maximizes their potential to compete globally as they become lifelong learners and critical thinkers in an ever-changing world.
Our specific goals are based on a tiered approach and include the following:
To provide exceptional academic support (specialized interventions and enrichment opportunities) for the diverse needs of all our students to promote growth in all areas.
To inspire a commitment to excellence and service by creating opportunities for students to engage socially and intellectually with professionals, community leaders, and mentors through various partnerships and projects.
To authentically empower and engage youth through activation of tiered systems that promote socio-emotional growth, self-actualization, accountability, and the development of academic skills through diverse, embedded and supplemental programs/projects.
To continually expose students to challenging and rigorous Tier I curricula that specifically supports literacy and comprehension skills necessary for college and career readiness in all content areas.
To provide ongoing professional development for our faculty and staff to support academic instruction in our classrooms.
To continually support and provide opportunities for family engagement to improve parental involvement in our school community.
To provide unique and diverse opportunities for students thereby empowering them to achieve success across various academic and social domains.

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 7:20 am - 3:00 pm
*Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
