We will continue with LEAP 2025 testing on Monday, May 8th, promptly at 8:00 am. Please ensure your students are present each day. Our testing window will close on Thursday, May 11th.

If you are a current 6th or 7th grade student who will be returning to Arthur F. Smith Middle Magnet School next year and you did not get a chance to select your elective course for next year, please do so by using the link below.

2023-2024 Electives Course Selection 

If you are a Rattler parent of a rising 7th or 8th grade student, please stop by the office to pick up an AFS Summer Brain Pack which includes a summer workbook filled with skills to help prepare you child for their rising grade, a flat panel canvas, blank canvas tote bag, and art supplies to help keep your child engaged throughout the summer. AFS Summer Brain Packs are available Monday through Thursday, from 8 am to 1 pm. Hurry while supplies last!

Parents and Rattler Community, 

Recently, our state has launched its 3rd Annual Statewide Parent and Family Engagement Survey. The purpose of this survey is to evaluate the engagement of parents/guardians specifically within five major domains. These domains include creating a welcoming environment, collaboration in support of student learning, practicing effective communication, practicing sharing power and advocacy/facilitation of community involvement. This data allows our Louisiana education leaders the opportunity to plan for parental engagement and coordination of school-specific measures to address parental engagement.
