The purpose of Integrated Math 1 is to formalize and extend the mathematics that students learned in the middle grades. Overarching themes are centered around deepening and extending linear relationships, exploring exponential relationships, the concept of a function, summarizing, representing, and interpreting statistical data, and algebraic connections in the area of coordinate geometry. The Common Core Standards of Mathematical Practice apply throughout this course and, together with the content standards, will allow students to experience mathematics as a coherent, useful, and logical subject that helps make sense of problem situations.
