The gazebo at Rowan University next to Magnolia Hall
Magnolia Hall at Rowan University
I was walking back to my dorm room at Magnolia sometime in October when I passed by the gazebo, there was a guy swinging around a wooden yardstick like it was a sword which got my attention. We made eye contact, and he started telling me about this event going on under the gazebo starting at 7pm - I looked at my watch and it was 6:30pm. I told him I would show up after I ate my meal at my dorm, and I actually did because he sounded really nice. When I arrived there, I was welcomed by him then a few minutes later this distorted punk-style music started playing by a band made up of some Rowan students. Even though I don't normally listen to this type of music, I really enjoyed attending this event. While the last song was playing the Magnolia fire-alarm went off and it made a very cool background noise, and we ended up staying out for a little longer because of it. Even though I don't relate much to most of the other people who went, I still am happy I went because it felt good to attend a community event.
