Welcome to second grade! I am delighted to be your child's teacher this year.
Here's a bit about me: I grew up in Nepal and earned my master's degree in education from Boston College. I am certified to teach kindergarten through 6th grade and I have additional certifications in ESL (English as Second Language) and TAG (Talented and Gifted). I lived in Boston and Toronto before moving to Austin 16 years ago. I have worked in the education sector for more than 20 years in Nepal, Canada, and the US.
My husband Sirish and I have been married for 24 years. We have two wonderful boys Nirvik and Nirwan. Nirvik will be in his 2nd year at CMU and Nirwan will be a junior at Westwood High School. We also have a sweet dog named Evie. I love traveling, hiking, watching movies, and spending time with my friends and family.
I strive to create a classroom community where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to explore, learn, and grow. We will celebrate what makes each of us unique and recognize that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. My goal is to help every child embrace mistakes as opportunities to learn, discover their strengths, reach their full potential, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Together, we will create a classroom where curiosity is encouraged, growth is celebrated, and every student feels confident in their ability to succeed. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and discovery!
