Welcome to second grade and Mrs. Levitan’s class! I am thrilled to start this school year with you and your child.
A little about myself...
I grew up in Northern Florida, graduated high school outside of Houston, and attended The University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em!). I have been married to my wonderful husband, Lon, for twenty-four years. Our son, Ben, will be a junior at The University of Texas this fall. He is a third generation Longhorn! We also have a new Schnoodle puppy named Sadie. I love listening to live music, eating my way around Austin , spending time with friends, and exercising.
My core values are connection, growth, and meaningful work. I keep these values at the center of all of my work with students and families at LME. I am starting my twenty-ninth year teaching and twenty-sixth year at Laurel Mountain. Over my career, I have taught fourth, fifth, second grades, and was the Enrichment Coordinator at Laurel Mountain.
I believe that the best way to educate children is to teach to their strengths. I love that I get to help my students find their gifts and develop their talents. I set high expectations for my students -- since a rising tide lifts all ships. I love laughing and having fun with the students. I also believe being part of an inclusive community and making personal connections will help us have a successful and fantastic school year.
I cannot wait to get this school year started and get to know all of you!
