The 2025-26 RosPod Crew
NPR Senior Producer Lauren Migaki visited the RosPod studio to check out our work and process.
Junior Ethan Vishnick visited Nassau County Executive and NYS gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman for an exclusive RosPod interview.
After seeing so many students creating and listening to podcasts, a group of Roslyn High School administrators and teachers collaborated to start a modern-day audio program. The RHS team visited several schools with innovative radio and music courses, which inspired the design of a semester length podcasting elective that revolves around the art of audio-based storytelling. The class is held in RHS' brand new studio where RTV episodes are also produced and filmed.
The RosPod crew is composed of 12-15 students (spanning grades 9-12) who have been learning to produce audio narratives that are both engaging and informative. Some students work in teams of 2-3 while others opt to create their podcasts individually. Crew members use digital recorders and microphones to record interviews, sound effects, and narratives. Those tracks are cut and edited on several different platforms (Adobe Audition, Podcastle, and Garageband) depending on what's being produced. Finally, polished tracks are published here.
After completing the introductory course, students are eligible to apply for leadership and executive positions ranging from Peer Advisor to Studio Director in Podcasting 2.0 and Podcasting 3.0. During their second and third year in the program, veterans coach 1st years through their projects while learning how to write news articles and create long-form audio narratives.
Our hosts are quirky, insightful, and energetic raconteurs who are eager to share their work with you. Check out a podcast or two and send us your thoughts and questions.
The RosPod website was inspired by Gen Z Media. All shows are edited for time and content. Featured narratives are produced for RHS students and the greater Roslyn community. The site was designed by RHS senior Jordan Feldstein and is maintained and updated by RosPod students. Mr. Vogt acts as the program's lead teacher and coordinator.
