Internal Assessment:
Physics Investigation (10 hours): Students are required to complete a physics investigation into a topic of their choice. (24 marks, 20% of final grade)
External Assessments:
Paper 1: (45 minutes): 30 marks
30 multiple-choice questions on core material, about 15 of which are common with HL.
The use of calculators is not permitted.
Paper 2: (1 hour 15 minutes): 50 marks
Short-answer and extended-response questions on core material.
The use of calculators is permitted.
A physics data booklet is provided.
Paper 3: (1 hour): 35 marks
This paper will have questions on core and SL option material.
Section A: one data-based question and several short-answer questions on experimental work.
Section B: short-answer and extended-response questions from one option.
The use of calculators is permitted.
