- each year 30-40% of the graduating class at Oakmont High School participates in the IB program in one way or another
- the majority of the students in the program are certificate students, which means they are taking a minimum of 1 IB class, but not doing the full diploma program
- Students who have experience with IB classes in high school report being very well prepared for success in college
- 80-90% of our students participate in at least one high school sport, and many do more than one!
- IB Students are active in our performing arts and clubs and can be found in just about every activity on campus!

Of the over 3,000 IB World Schools offering the Diploma Program, there are only about 100 programs larger than ours, as measured by number of candidates registered for exams. We are a large, historically successful program that our community can be proud of!

Compared to the average number of candidates at IB Schools world wide, the Oakmont program is significantly bigger, with more students taking at least one exam than most other IB World Schools.

Our pass rate for students achieving the diploma is something to be proud of, especially when compared with the pass rate for all students world-wide!

While students in other schools struggled to stay engaged in challenging classes, like IB Courses, our IB Program grew a significant amount! We registered more students for IB exams than we ever had before in the first year back to full time instruction after the pandemic... we grew by nearly 50% in students taking at least one IB Course! Well done Vikings!
