Student Assistant Plan (SAP) Counselors
SAP Counselors provide mental health services to students and families which include individual and group counseling. We also help with emotional regulation skills and creating positive social communities to build resiliency in students.
The Role of a School Counselor
School counselors design and deliver school counseling programs that improve student outcomes. They lead, advocate and collaborate to promote equity and access for all students. School counselors meet with students to discuss academics, college and career plans, and assist with social/emotional needs. School counselors also build student schedules, present college and career information, assist students with 4-year planning, serve as advisors for clubs, and MORE. All school counselors are P.P.S. credentialed and hold Masters degrees in School Counseling.
