The six military branches of the United States are the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force. The National Guard is unique in that it can provide both domestic and foreign support.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is required for those who are interested in joining any branch of the military. It helps determine job placements within the military based on which areas you score in. The higher you score, the more job placement opportunities you can have. Keep in mind that placements also depend on what positions are available within a certain branch.
Some students have taken the ASVAB CPE as a tool for career exploration even when they don't plan to join the military.
MLKHS invites interested students to take the ASVAB while they are still in high school. Students in grades 10-12 can take the ASVAB at MLKHS. It is offered once per year during the Fall semester, usually around October. Visit the Career Center in the library or join the Google Classroom to be notified about ASVAB dates.
