When you apply to college and many scholarships you may be expected to submit a letter of recommendation. Since your letter will often be read by one or several individuals, make sure you become familiar with what your applications ask for and share pertinent details with your counselor. 

When a King staff member accepts your request for a letter, it is the proper protocol that you provide them with this completed Brag Sheet. The more information you are able to share about yourself, the more your recommender can share in the letter. It is no longer common for a student to obtain a physical copy of the letter. Instead, most institutions will have a portal for your recommenders to submit the letter electronically. 

Counselors ask for at least two weeks notice to review your brag sheet and write a letter of recommendation. Counselors cannot guarantee requests will be reviewed during non-school days, including holidays. Please take school and district holidays into account when reaching out to request a letter of recommendation.
