Rostering deadlines will be approximately 2 weeks before each contest to give us sufficient time to upload and set up the user ID's and passwords for all participants.

All registration for the contests this year are happening through this google form. NO ONE NEEDS TO SIGN UP WITH ANY CONTEST SITE as River Edge as already purchased licenses for these contests directly.

This form will be open all year, however, once a registration deadline has passed for each contest, any entries after that date for that contest will not be honored (even though the google form may allow you to choose that contest and submit it).

The reason is that removing questions from the google form mid-year will interfere with the data on the related response sheet where submissions are stored, impacting the rostering of all future contests.

If you have REGISTERED using the google form above from Mrs. Hafers by the registration deadline posted on the calendar, then you will be ROSTERED for that contest. You are now ready for STEP 2.

Each month, a SCHEDULE is posted in the Math Competitions google classroom with all the time slots listed for that month's contest(s). It's also linked from the calendar above in each month's column heading. That will tell you all the dates and times available for you to take the contest with Mrs. Hafers. Now, you are ready to choose a day and time to come take it!

Students, parents and teachers can edit that month's PROCTOR SLOT SIGN UP SHEET in the google classroom (under Calendar, Registration & Test Slots) and put their name down for one of the open slots listed. The number of student slots for each time is determined by the amount of seats Mrs. Hafers physically has in her classroom.

Anyone absent on the day of the contest should contact Mrs. Hafers directly for a make up or simply move their name to another open slot if there are any.

In the past, Mrs. Hafers coordinated two external contests: Noetic Learning and Mathematics League plus our own homegrown Pi Digits Contest, in honor of Pi Day. Last year, we reviewed our process and current offerings and made some recommendations for this year (refer to the document below).

Changes for 2024-25:
- Streamline and standardize the entire competition process for enrolling and registering for any competition. There will be a single sign up google form for all competitions. Anyone may sign up a student for a competition - parents, students and/or teachers. Parent permission will not be required.
- Better communicate all offerings to the school community, especially parents. A calendar of all contests being offered during the school year will be shared here. That monthly timeline includes both registration dates and test taking dates.
- Offer additional contests to enhance our student experience. We are adding more competitions to give greater opportunities, especially to the younger grades. Some will be only pilots this year, to see how we like them. New options include Continental Math, Perennial Math, Beestar (2nd grade pilot only).
Mrs. Hafers will post specific sign up deadlines as each competition comes up in order to make sure all students are rostered in time. Keep checking back for the latest information as details are added each month.
