Caerphilly Council is part of the Welsh Network of Healthy School Schemes (WNHSS) which aims to promote the health and wellbeing of children, young people and the whole school community in schools across Wales. The Scheme is recognised by the World Health Organisation and is part of Schools for Health in Europe. Schools who receive the National Quality Award have proved that they are committed to promoting physical, mental and social health and wellbeing to all members of the school and local community.
The aim is for schools to:

develop good relationships
encourage a positive ethos
maintain good school / home / community links
enforce policies to reflect the health education curriculum
encourage staff development and training
