This course will be a great place for students wanting to start on a pathway to engineering. Students will be given the basic skills needed to understand, create and read blueprints. Computer aided drafting software as well as hand tools will be used to create sketches, 3-view and isometric drawings. Basic floor plans will also be covered in this course.

This course will expose the students to a variety of areas in the drafting field. In the area of mechanical drafting; multi-view, isometric, oblique, perspective, sectional views, auxiliary views, and dimensioning will be covered. In the area of architectural drafting; house design, floor plans, typical wall sections, elevations, details, and costing estimates will be covered. All the above items will be introduced and hands on assignments will be required. Work will be done at three levels; first – simple sketching; second – drafting with drafting boards and t-square; and third – with computer drafting equipment.
