Criminal Justice provides a view of our criminal justice system, examines the law, its violation, arrest, prosecution, confinement, rehabilitation, and eventual release back into society. It also reviews problems still remaining in today’s judicial system. This class is more easily understood when taken along with or after Psychology.

Psychology is designed to provide a better understanding of human behavior. The course examines heredity and environment, thought processes, personality development, and behavioral development. This course is an academic elective designed for those students who plan to continue their education after high school.

AP U.S. History may be taken in 10th grade as part of the advanced social studies track or as a social studies elective during 12th grade. Students will study the cultural, economic, political, and social developments that have shaped the United States from c. 1491 to the present. You’ll analyze texts, visual sources, and other historical evidence and write essays expressing historical arguments. Students have the option of taking the AP exam in May to potentially earn college credit.
