Overview and Learning Intention
Overview
Egypt had a major role in the formation of civilisation, art and culture of human kind. The students of Room 5 were guided to do one of the below three activities, with the option of doing all:
Egyptian hieroglyphics
Portraits of different pharaohs and gods
Bookmarks using papyrus pieces
Learning Intention: To enhance student’s skills to draw confidently and adventurously using observation, memory, and imagination.

Student Reflections
During ART Week, Room 5 focused on Ancient Egypt. We drew our first and last names in hieroglyphics. We also drew different pharaohs including King Metes, Cleopatra and some Egyptian gods.
Room 5 learned how ancient Egyptians lived thousands years ago. I think the students enjoyed the experience of drawing and painting on actual papyrus.
