The difference between 'To', 'CC', and 'BCC'
Let's say you will send an email to the student about a missed assignment but you have to add the parent , and the principal in the loop for accountability. In order for that to happen, you can use the different email recipient options: To, CC, and BCC.
The 'To' field is used to indicate your primary respondent in the email. In this case, the student.
The 'CC' or carbon copy field includes the people who are in the loop but doesn't really need to take action. In this case, the parent.
Lastly, the 'BCC' or blind carbon copy field includes the people who will also get the email but the other recipients will not know about it. In this case, the principal. Basically, the principal will know that you sent an email to both the parent and student account but the latter two will not know about it.
How to send an email using the BCC and CC functions
On the left of Google Mail, click Compose.
(Optional) To change your window size, in the upper corner, click Maximize or Full screen in the upper-right part of your email.
Add primary recipients in the 'To' field and a subject.
Add the other recipients in the 'CC' and 'BCC' fields.
Enter your message. Email you start writing but don't send are automatically saved in Drafts on the left.
(Optional) Add attachments, such as Drive files Insert file using Drive or photos Insert image.
You can also add emojis, links, reactions, written signature, and bullets. The texts that you will write may be formatted (font style, size, boldface, italicized, underlined, color, indentation, and alignment)
Click Send OR the arrow on its right to indicate when it will be sent to the recipients. This feature is best for sending an email that you wrote after working hours.
Note:
To cancel sending an email, at the bottom of the window, click Undo. This option appears briefly, but you can change how long it lasts in the Settings.
