NO WORK PERMITS ARE ISSUED DURING

THANKSGIVING BREAK,

WINTER BREAK OR SPRING BREAK

YOU CANNOT GET A WORK PERMIT UNTIL YOU ARE HIRED FIRST SOMEWHERE!!

REMINDER: NO WORK PERMITS ARE ISSUED OVER THE THANKSGIVING BREAK, CHRISTMAS BREAK or SPRING BREAK!

Step Two: You need to be hired somewhere FIRST and then fill out the B1-1 form (the one above you just printed) with you, your parent and new employer in their spots on that form. Look on our RUSD Job Board to see who's hiring (located to your left in the menu).

Step Three: Once hired, go see Mrs. Hill in the Student Center. Work permits are processed mornings before 1st period and LUNCHTIME. These are the pick-up/drop-off times ONLY. You MUST also have a 2.0 GPA or above and less than 60 period absences for a regular work permit and a 1.5 GPA or better for a probationary permit.

All minors under the age of 18 are required by law to have a work permit on file. If you are 17 and have GRADUATED, you do NOT need a work permit.

Your work permit will need to be renewed at the beginning of each school year if you are employed over the summer and into the start of the new school year.

ALL STUDENTS CURRENTLY WORKING MUST RENEW THEIR WORK PERMIT FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR each August

Work Permits for the 2023/2024 School Year

To begin the work permit process, read below and then start the process by emailing Mrs. Hill: kari_hill@redlands.k12.ca.us

You MUST be hired first in order to get a work permit.

After you have received a job offer, download and print the B1-1 work permit request form (below) and complete in full including student, parent and employer signatures. This can also be emailed to the employer and returned to student with their signatures. Then email Mrs. Hill at kari_hill@redlands.k12.ca.us once it is all filled out. It's also helpful to bring this form along on interviews in case you are hired on-the-spot...then the employer can sign their part right there. Bottom is left blank and what I fill out before issuing the legal work permit.

Please email Mrs. Hill with any additional questions.

(always bring this to interviews)
