Many students walk past the library each day without realizing all that it holds inside. Our Media Center at Chase High School has many opportunities for its students and staff alike.
For academic purposes, the library offers research services, book talks, digital citizenship, and much more. Lit Fix, which is an online survey that students can take, “will curate to certain genres and books that will fit most with their likes and personality.” Students can fill out Lit Fix on bit.ly/LitFixCHS
While many services are offered, there are also some fun activities that go on in the Media Center. Some of the things offered to the students are the Makerspace, which is “an area for students to explore and unleash their creativity in a healthy way,” the drawing and coloring section, and even a space to build models out of Rubix Cubes. All of these services are open during lunchtime and at any time students are given permission to go.
All of the above is available from 8:00 AM when the library opens until 3:20 PM when the library closes.
In an interview with our librarian Mrs. Randlett, she explained that our most popular genres in the library now are realistic fiction, and sci-fi fiction, also adding that her personal favorite genre is realistic fiction. The media center does indeed have a newsletter that is updated monthly, which includes all the ‘happenings’ from that month.
