The Trojan Torch is a journalism club sponsored by Mrs. Cori Wilson, which serves as CHASE High's digital newspaper. Here students can learn to write objectively and effectively, using research, statistics, and facts. They do post the occasional opinion column, although it is rare.
Being a part of The Trojan Torch requires being a reliable student, an excellent writer, and cultured in the world of journalism. It means having involvement in the world and interviewing different people in person: collecting information and knowing how to insert it into an informative article that will keep the readers interested.
The Trojan Torch publishes articles every Monday relating to the recent and upcoming events in school and sports and the highlights here at CHASE.
You can apply to join The Trojan Torch today (attached below)! The application is due November 26th, but keep in mind it is a long process, requiring a writing sample, or photography portfolio, and two teacher recommendations. Although that may sound like excessive work, it is simple for those with a true passion for journalism and writing.
