Key Club is an international organization under the umbrella of Kiwanis International. We are sponsored by the Forest City Kiwanis Club. Key Club is dedicated to making the lives of children here and around the world better. They collect money during the month of October, Trick-or- Treat for UNICEF, to help eliminate maternal neonatal tetanus. "We have in the past collected money for hurricane relief, and after hurricane Harvey we collected over $1000 to donate to the Houston area's recovery effort of the McNair Foundation,” said Mrs.Carroll. Mrs.Carroll is the teacher in charge of Key Club. They are going to be collecting toys, candy, toiletries, clothes, etc. to fill Salvation Army Christmas Stockings that are distributed at the Cheer Center. They also participate in Trunk-or-Treat here at CHASE and helping sponsor spirit week next week with the History Club, Quiz Bowl, Young Dems and Teen Reps. To be in Key club, there are not any major requirements. The only requirements are to just to come to the meetings, and the dues are $13.50. In the club, there are fifteen members, “which is a little less than what we usually do,” stated Mrs.Carroll. In Key club, Jennifer Armstrong is the president, and Mariah Elliott is the Vice President. On October 18th they will be doing the tailgate at lunch. ''Trunk-or- Treat is November 1st, our Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF wraps up November 1st and our stocking stuffing with the middle school version of Key Club, which is The Builders Club, is the first of December,” said Mrs.Carroll. There aren't any field trips this year for Key club either. "I really like this club because I like to help others and work with the community," stated Brianna Smith.
