Mrs. Ash is a Curriculum and Instruction teacher at CHASE High School has been chosen for this week’s edition of the Chosen Trojan Teacher. She has been teaching for four years. “It’s my first year at CHASE but before I worked at an Elementary School in Cleveland County, and I was a Self-contained classroom teacher,” stated Mrs. Ash.
She currently teaches Curriculum and Instruction. When asked what her degree was in she replied with “I am Working on my Master's degree in special education at UNC Charlotte.” She chose her major because she worked at a summer camp for special needs children, and loved it, and she then decided to work in a career with kids.
She was asked why she wanted to become a teacher, and she answered with “because I like to watch when a student finally gets something that has been working hard on. It's like that ha-ha moment.” Mrs. Ash’s favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with her students and being a part of CHASE and watching the Trojan pride during football games or when any other time it is shown. She likes being a part of that.
When Mrs.Ash was asked if she weren’t a teacher what would she do she replied with an exciting remark and said “Be in theater! I Did it in college, and really liked it.” She looks up to her mother-in-law. “ I think she is a very smart woman, and she is also a principal but was a teacher, and she strives every day to make the lives better with her students,” she stated in thought.
Mrs. Ash loves working at CHASE and is proud to be chosen that it feels wonderful because coming from a background of working with elementary students she was afraid she would let her students here at CHASE down.
Now with Mrs. Ash still teaching here, she realized it made her feel like she might not be letting them down, and she still builds relationships and doing things right, and making things right for them.
