The Rochester Instructional Framework is a tool to support teachers' lesson planning and instructional practice. It is not a lesson plan template. Rather, it consists of proven research-based elements of quality lesson planning and implementation. The Framework lists components that should be a part of learning plans.
Based on the Plan, Teach, Asess, Reflect cycle and the workshop model, our Instructional Framework reflects the district's emphasis on flexibly providing students with a supportive environment that involves authentic learning experiences that meet the needs of each student. By modeling best practices and providing students an opportunity to be learners, teachers are able to provide authentic learning experiences for all students.
