Now more than ever before, we need to know where our students are and how we can best support them. Using data can help accomplish this but only if the data you have is reliable. With i-Ready, we can better understand what your students know and haven’t learned yet, find ways to address all students’ instructional priorities, and build a classroom culture in which data guides instruction and fosters student ownership of learning and growth.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. The purpose of this is not to give students a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support your student’s learning.
i-Ready is both an assessment and an online instruction program. i-Ready Personalized Instruction is a research-based program for students in kindergarten through eighth grade with an individualized plan for instruction based on each student’s performance on the i-Ready Diagnostic test. Once students complete the Diagnostic, i-Ready builds a unique lesson plan with a starting point for each learner based on their individual results. i-Ready gives teachers the flexibility to add lessons or adjust the lesson sequence based on their own knowledge of their students.
The pages below provide a listing of actions we should take at each level of our system to accurately and effectively use i-Ready data during each assessment window
