By Kora Scalia - Homecoming 2025 included many traditions like Spirit Week, a Friday night football game, and the Homecoming dance. The fun filled Spirit Week began on Monday, October 6, 2025. The theme for Monday was "Nothing but a Backpack". Students from all four grades brought fun and exciting items to school instead of their backpacks. Some of the items were a bird cage, an RC car, strollers, suitcases, a tire, and many laundry baskets. The next few days continued to bring a lot of spirit to the school. Tuesday's theme invited students from each grade level to "dress as your holiday". The theme for Wednesday was "Bikers vs surfers" and the theme for Thursday was "Throwback Thursday". Of course, Friday was the Homecoming football game and the theme was "pink out."
Before the football game, the members of the homecoming court were announced.
Freshmen homecoming representatives were: Emma Wunderle, Abigail Myers and Kael Jordan. Braelyn Berg and Carsyn Swauger represented the sophomore class; Matilyn Brode and Tyler Nichols represented the junior class. The seniors on the homecoming court were as follows: Giana McKamey, Loudon White, Alexia Ramsell, Malena Harper, Miriyha Sandifer, Mason Scott, CJ Ross, Trenton Turney, Ziare Sanders and LaDarion Askew. The 2025 Homecoming queen and king were announced before the football games. Congratulations to Malena Harper and CJ Ross!
Unfortunately, the Ravens did not win the Homecoming game against Streetsboro; the final score was 49-3.

By Trinity Watson -Punished for being quirky? Ned the snail is 1 in 40,000 snails whose organs don’t line up with those of the rest of their species. His shell coils to the left, instead of the typical right, meaning unless there is another lefty snail, he is doomed to an eternal loveless life. When you have a left-coiling snail and a right-coiling snail, their shells can’t slide to meet up, leading to unsuccessful reproduction.
This predicament prompted a New Zealand nature lover, Giselle Clarkson, who found the snail in her garden in August, to launch a campaign to find Ned's eternal match.
By Kora Scalia - On October 1, 2025, 91-year-old Jane Goodall died. Goodall was best known for her work with chimpanzees. Her journey with Chimpanzee began in 1960. Goodall was scheduled to speak at an event in Los Angeles when she died due to natural causes.
Goodall was a British primatologist, ethologist, and anthropologist. When she was 26-years-old, she went to Tanzania to begin her important research on chimpanzees in the wild. (Continued Here: Outside the Times)
By Trinity Watson - When 13-year-old Brent Chapman took an ibuprofen during a Christmas basketball game, he didn’t expect his entire life to flip in an instant. He had contracted a reaction that caused severe burns all over his body and, unfortunately, on the surface of his eyes. Chapman was in a coma for 27 days and he lost his left eye, as well as most of the vision in his right. For the past 20 years, Chapman has had somewhere close to 50 surgeries trying to save his eye. By Jude Szijarto - In early September 2025, the people of Nepal, a country in South Asia saw their government collapse after huge protests led by young citizens. The movement, often called the “Gen Z protests,” began when the government blocked popular social media apps like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Officials said it was for “registration reasons,” but many saw it as an attempt to silence free speech.
By Alexis Day -Gothic, mysterious, and surprisingly emotional, The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux is way more than just a story about a creepy guy in a mask. First published in 1910, this novel blends romance, horror, and mystery in the dramatic setting of the Paris Opera House—making it a classic that still holds up.
