Academics
Curriculum comes from Latin and means "the course to run." The Ramsey K-12 curriculum serves as the "course" that students will run from the day they enter Kindergarten until their graduation from Ramsey High School. To help us determine the best course, during the 2017-2018 school year we co-constructed a Profile of a Ramsey Graduate which identifies the competencies that we believe a graduate will possess when they complete their education in the Ramsey School District. This profile serves as the ultimate goal that our K-12 curriculum aims to achieve. The Understanding by Design (UbD) framework is used for curriculum writing with the backwards design process being initiated at the program level to make sure all courses reflect the larger vision of the each academic discipline.
