What is an alumni email?

Your alumni email is a gmail account you receive after graduating CSU. For more information, please see the Lifetime Email FAQ page.

The @alumni.colostate.edu emails are run by the Alumni Association, and any issues logging in and creating these accounts should be sent to csualumni@colostate.edu or (800) 286-2586.

Our helpdesk supports users in transferring content from their CSU email to their alumni email.

How do I transfer content from Microsoft to a Google account?

There are third-party tools to help automate the process of transferring the emails and files from your Microsoft account to your Google account, but our helpdesk doesn't endorse any, and the following instructions attempt to minimize the amount of services you have to download or allow access to your files. If you'd prefer to use a third-party tool, especially if you have a large amount of data to transfer, feel free to do your own research and decide which tool works best for you.

Let's start with your emails.

1.) Download the Office 365 suite through the university by following the steps on our Office 365 FAQ page.

2.) Open the Outlook app, sign in, and allow your emails to fully appear.

3.) Select File > Open & Export > Import/Export

4.) Export to a file > Outlook Data File (.pst)

5.) Choose the email you want to save, and a location and name for your .pst file.

6.) Download https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gsmmo and use this Google Support page to walk you through the steps to import the .pst file into your alumni (or personal) Google Account.

That's your email taken care of. Now onto your OneDrive.

1.) Go to portal.office.com and log in with your CSU Outlook email.

2.) Select "My Content" from the menu on the left-hand side of your screen.

3.) Download everything you want to keep from here.

4.) Make sure to check OneDrive by going to "Cloud Files" under Locations, and selecting "Go to OneDrive".

5.) Once you've downloaded all your files, sign into your Google Drive and upload everything.

How do I transfer file ownership from one Google Drive to another?
