For graduation you need to complete 40 hours of community service. There are rules about what can qualify as community service (see below), but generally hours need to be completed outside of the regular school day, and they cannot be hours that replace a regular paid worker. Approval of community hours is judged by the principal.

NOTE: for graduating students in 2021-22, there is only 20 hours required, due to pandemic restrictions.
During Pandemic Restrictions there are also additional activities that can be counted towards 'Volunteer Hours' at the principals discretion: (for example)
Schools may allow students to earn hours during the time allotted for the school day;
Schools may allow students to earn hours through duties normally performed in the home; and
Schools may allow students aged 14 years and older to count up to a maximum of 10 hours from paid employment towards their earned hours. Students counting paid employment towards their graduation requirement will be required to complete a reflection exercise indicating how their work contributed to the service for others.
