Safe Route to Schools (SRTS)

In February 2023, parents/guardians of all pupils enrolled in the school at that time were invited to complete a survey to inform the Safe Route to Schools project. We had a very good response rate and the authors of the report were delighted with this engagement from our parents/guardians. 

We had a number of meetings with the Safe Route to Schools Coordinator and an engineer from Mayo County Council. They have made a number of recommendations for the school as detailed in the attached report. We now need our local Councillors to engage with this issue and allocate necessary funding for the benefit of the entire area. The recommendations also feed into a larger Ballina area transport plan that is open for consultation at present.
