2022-2023 School Year by Mid August of 2022
Like many other businesses, we are struggling to staff our sites. We are trying very hard to make the program available to all students in the district, however we may not be able to open all sites in the elementary schools if enrollment is low and/or we cannot staff them appropriately. We will notify everyone as soon as possible. We will continue throughout the school year to hire staff and will keep all students on the waitlist for any site that does not open right away until such time as we hire more staff. We appreciate your continues understanding and support during these unprecedented times!

The QRSD Fun Frontier Program is a program run and operated by the Quabbin Regional School District and is strictly parent funded. The program has been operating since 2007. Hubbardston Center School was the first school we opened in. We have continued to grow tremendously over the years and are now open at all Elementary schools in the district. We have become a popular resource for working parents whether working full-time or part-time, offering a safe and convenient place for children to go after school without worry of taking a bus to another location.
ADAPTATIONS DUE TO COVID - The Fun Frontier Programs follow EEC/DESE and QRSD, Covid guidance and protocols for masking, quarantine and illness related responses.
The Quabbin Extended Day Program mission is to offer an afterschool setting that provides a curriculum orientated, structured environment that allows students several opportunities to pursue personal interests, make choices, work on social goals & participate in activities that stress fun, recreation, education, participation and socialization. Program activities focus on extending school day learning by providing adventures that encompass hands on opportunities that include but aren’t limited to; STEM enrichment, physical fitness, all aspects of the arts & character building with individual and teamwork challenges as well as free choice fun.
Our Motto “We have what it takes to make ourselves great”, is the premise under which we operate. “I Owe it to Myself To.., show gratitude; persevere; keep trying; take risks; do the right thing even when no one is looking; have compassion; dream big; be confident; take risks; be accountable; be courageous; learn from my mistakes; forgive myself & others”, is the outline for the kids, while our staff “Owes it to the kids I Lead”, to do the same, creating a common ground to work with for all students. We believe each child in our care joins us with their own unique personality, learning ability, maturity level and talents. Therefore, we treat every child as an individual member of our program, focusing on promoting positive character traits, teaching life skills and working individually with any student who needs a little extra encouragement to stay on the right track. Utilizing our Motto & the 6 Pillars of Character; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship, are key to maintaining this philosophy and are all used as models for providing individualized success plans for any child that may need it. The success of this philosophy comes from a unified goal between staff, students and parents.
