Meet Your Teacher!
My name is Mrs. Bordak-Raaflaub (you can call me Mrs. Raaflaub). I am thrilled to be part of the TJMS staff and am excited and ready to get down to some singing!
I graduated in 2010 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with bachelor degrees in General Music, Choral Music and Theatre Education. Since 2010 I have taught in the Cedarburg School District, the Appleton School District, the Beaver Dam School District and have worked here in Port Washington since 2017. In all of my teaching positions I have taught choral music, general music and theatre. I have played violin and viola in community theatre pit orchestras, Beaver Dam Area Orchestra and the Watertown Area Community Orchestra. In past summers I have been involved in the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre directing middle school musicals, worked at WASC’s leadership camp - Level 1, and taught summer school in the Cedarburg and Port Washington/Saukville School Districts. Some of the shows I have directed or worked on include: Footloose & The Wizard of Oz: Young Performers Editions, Music Man Junior, G2K: Once Upon A Mattress, Xanadu Junior, School Daze, Ths Phne 2.0: The Next Generation, Alice in Wonderland Junior, Next to Normal, Betweenity, and Wait Wait Bo Bait.
Some of my favorite things to do when I'm not teaching include camping, gardening, going to concerts, traveling, cheering on the Brewers and Packers (Go-Pack-Go!), and spending time with all my boys (Scott, Jackson & Austin), pets and family.
