Welcome to 8th Grade Chorus!

Did you know that when we sing: Sound comes out of our mouths at approximately 75 miles per hour. It is 1/2200 second, from the time that the sound is made until it exits your mouth.

By the end of 8th grade chorus you will...

• Sing music up to four parts with accompaniment

• Sing up to 3 parts without accompaniment

• Identify major key signatures and have an understanding of how to find a key signature within a piece of music

• Aurally identify if a song is major or minor

• Count with numbers simple and compound time signatures of a level 3 out of 5

• Effectively articulate your own musical ideas using a general language of musical terms and definitions

• Find “Do” in any key signature and sight-sing three-part melodic patterns

• Identify the musical form of your concert repertoire
